I think that they really made a mistake with the 5 pressure zones on their luxe model. As my mattress has broken in it's gotten significantly less comfortable where I wake up in pain multiple times thought out the night. I could tell when the mattress first arrived that to fit my shoulder in the proper space I had to be a few inches down from the headboard. That's how pronounced the difference is from head to shoulder zone. Unfortunately as it broke in it became apparent that the zones are just not fitted to my body. I'm a 5'10 male with a normal to long torso, so fairly average size. My wife knew off the bat it didn't work for her (we have separate beds). She's 5'1 with a short torso. If you move at all when you're asleep you absolutely feel it if you wake up crooked. I hope that anyone else that orders this mattress has a significantly better experience than I do but I frankly don't expect this mattress to be available for long given the pain I've started waking up with. I've put in for an exchange and am hopeful the pro adapt medium will be good enough, compared to this as it will be a final sale as an exchange.

No breaking in period for me. I was coming from a 14 year old spring mattress & the difference is astounding. I tested out all Tempur-pedic mattresses in my local store. I knew the firmer the better & the Luxe Adapt Firm is perfect. At first when rolling into bed it almost feels like laying down on a gym mat. But only for a second, suddenly the area my body is on softens just enough to support me comfortably. I used to toss and turn many times before falling asleep as a side sleeper. Not on this. The comfort makes me fall asleep rather quickly, and through the night as well. It's been about a week now. Every morning I have woken up refreshed, and back not stiff and achy like it was with my last mattress. The temperature part is not a problem. The cover has some ventilation, the waterproof mattress protector also has some cooling properties. After laying in one spot long enough I suppose it does warm up but not uncomfortably since I have ac running all night anyway (living in FL), and a fan as well. I will try bamboo sheet, as I have heard those help in that area as well. Overall, this has been a very wise investment for me. I spend 1/3 of my life on a mattress, and the quality of that affect my physical & mental comfort the rest of the day. The Tempur-pedic Luxe Adapt Firm has been a game changer for me.

This mattress is soooo comfortable, the 5 stars is for this feature. The smell has been annoying. I have had the mattress around a month or more and the smell has not gone away, however it is lessening.

My partner and I both love this mattress. For my approx 200lb partner, it is medium-firm with some comfortable give. For me at approx 125lb, it's pretty firm and I hardly sink in at all, but I'm still very happy with it because it relieved some of my chronic neck and back pain within a few nights. No more pain and much better sleep for both of us! The mattress is also a comfortable temperature, I sleep cold while my partner sleeps warm and it works for both of us. Great motion absorption. I used to always wake up to my partner moving but only sometimes now.
