I purchased this lamp mainly due to the fact that it matched the living room decor. It has a solid build and a fair amount of weight so it doesn't feel cheap. I noticed that it had three different lighting options, which was quite the surprise. There are lights hidden within the glass base which can be used for lower-level ambient lighting or mood lighting. The traditional lighting can also be combined with the ambient lighting if desired.
