It is at the right height in our bay window. Like that it has a turn on/off switch along the cord. You just reach around from couch to turn on without having to get up. Right amount of light to read by.

The lamp is very attractive and matches perfectily a floor lamp that was purchased elsewhere. However, it was never mentioned in the discription that it would only use a special 40 watt bulb that doesnet project enough light to read a book by. It makes a nice night light Not good engineering or...
